  Screw You, APA!
As a former English major, I'm a big fan of MLA formatting. It's handy. It's contraction-friendly. And you're even allowed to start sentences with "And."

APA on the other hand is a pain. I understand the necessity of having formatting rules, and I understand the necessity of standardization of those rules, but I don't understand why the rules themselves have to be so ridiculously nitpicky.

I got an 18/20 on my paper. I lost points because of APA formatting issues. Grrrr.

Comments:
I quite agree with the notion that APA is really sucks. I'm also used to MLA format for all of my papers not only in highschool, but in all college courses as well. I had one crazy speech teacher require the sources on speeches to be in APA format. I lost many a point because I tried to mix the two.
